Arusha National Park Excursion Trip

Descriptions:

This one-day itinerary trip for Arusha National Park combines a game drive with a walking safari and canoeing, offering the best of the park’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. This day trip from your Arusha hotel involves an early morning pickup, a scenic drive to the park entrance (about 45 minutes to an hour), a guided game drive to spot animals like giraffes and zebras, a picnic lunch, and a unique walking safari experience near the base of Mount Meru before returning to Arusha in the late afternoon. The trip is easily arranged through tour operators in Arusha, with a guide and vehicle for
the day.

Morning: Game drive and scenic hike 

07:30 hrs : Get picked up from your hotel in Arusha. The drive to the park entrance takes about 45 minutes.
08:30 : Arrive at the Arusha National Park gate. Safari guide will handle the parkentry formalities and arrange for an armed ranger to accompany you for thewalking portion of the safari.
09:30 hrs: Begin a game drive through the park. Your first major stop will be theNgurdoto Crater, also known as “Little Ngorongoro”. From the scenic viewpointsalong the rim, you can observe a marshy crater floor teeming with buffalo,warthogs, and various antelope.!
 11:00 hrs: Continue your game drive through the park’s grasslands, known as the “Little Serengeti.” This area is a great place to spot herbivores like giraffes, zebras, and elephants.

Midday: Walking safari

12:00 hrs: safari guide will take you to a designated area to begin a guided walking safari, allowing you to experience the park on foot.
12:30 hrs: Enjoy a peaceful walk through the forest and open plains. An armed park ranger will lead the way, pointing out wildlife and sharing insights into the park’s ecosystems.
13:30 hrs: Stop for a packed picnic lunch at a designated picnic site inside the park, near the Momela Gate. You will enjoy your meal surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery.

Geared up planning and packing:

Afternoon: Canoeing and
Momela Lakes

14:30 hrs: After lunch, head to the Momela Lakes for a canoe safari. This activityoffers a unique perspective on the park’s wildlife and stunning landscape.
15:00 hrs: Take a guided canoe trip on one of the lakes, paddling along theshoreline. You will get close to hippos and witness a dazzling array of water birds,including vast flocks of flamingos, herons, and more.!
16:30 PM: Depart from the Momela Lakes for your final game viewing as you headback towards the park gate. Evening: Return to Arusha
17:30 PM: Exit Arusha National Park and begin the drive back to your hotel.
18:30 PM: Arrive back at your hotel in Arusha, concluding your fulfilling day trip.
